Sloppy Friday

Well....we GOT SNOW......about 8". Now it's raining and we GOT SLUSH!!!!Then it is supposed to snow again this weekend. I LOVE IDAHO!!!!!

Did get some scrapping done and have 2 layouts and 1 card to post, but, the light is not good. I am going to try to take them anyway as one of them has a deadline tomorrow night. Will post asap.

Nothing much going on ...except the weather..lol

Snowy Monday

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW......got about 2" this morning and sounds like more on the way. What a perfect opportunity to hole up in my craft room and SCRAP!!!!!

Did a "BLOG HOP" at Echo Park this morning......they had some really cute projects.

Been trying to do some snooping around to see some CHA previews.....G45.....OMG...GORGEOUS!!! I 'HOARD" G45 papers...need to really get to using them. I just love them and don't do a whole lot of heritage type scrapping. I did , however, do a couple of projects with the "ABC PRIMER" collection. Loved that one too!

Well, going to get off this puter and get some scrapping done...got some done yesterday and need to finish that layout. Will post layout if I finish today.

Lazy Sunday

Good morning ladies.....actually afternoon. Just wanted to pop in and see what everyone is doing and if you are able to sneak in some scrappy time today.

I have another sketch that I want to do and some perfect pictures of Ezra and my son....doing mechanic work on the truck...so cute. Give that kid some tools and he is in hog heaven. Even when he was just a little over a couple of years old, whenever he heard the drill it was like someone had connected it to him.....He just had to have his nose right in the middle of it.

Well, that's it for today and I am going to squuuueeeze in some scrappy time!!!!!

I have always had a hard time finding paper for little boys. Well, finally, someone has come to our rescue. Laura Lee has founded the "Boys Rule Kit Club" and the kits are fabulous!!!!She has a real knack for putting together the right elements. My first kit is on its way and I can hardly wait. I have sooooo many pics of Ezra and Jesus (haysus) to scrap. These kits will be like manna from heaven for me...lol. I live in a very remote area and have to shop online , so , I really appreciate a GOOD KIT CLUB!!!!Thanks Laura........and I will add a link when I figure out how to do it....lol I DID IT!!!!!.....There is a link on my sidebar to this fabulous kit club.....go and check it out!!!

Here is my take on this sketch!. This is my grandson at 1 year old..........INDEED........"Here Comes Trouble!" I have had these "Lime Rickey" papers from Basic Grey forever and thought this would be perfect to bring out the green in his shirt! I didn't have a whole lot of time for any distressing and may go back and do some inking on these. The more I look at it....the more I like it!!

Mini Album Kits are a SUCCESS!!!!!

Hi ......I am soooo very excited. My 2 mini album kits are almost sold out.....I think I have one of the vintage heart kit left. I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would be making SCRAPBOOK KITS. I wanted to do it...but, with the economy and everything.....I was SCARED!!!!Didn't want to buy a bunch of supplies and then not be able to sell them.....SO....I started with some paper I had and pulled everything from my personal stash and ..VOILA...A kit was born. Then the AMAZING thing happened I had interest in MORE THAN THE ONE I MADE.....so I hurried and found more paper and created 3 more.....of those there is one left.

The next mini kit was with the G45 "Once Upon A SPringtime" that I think everyone loves. Again, pulling items from my personal stash and adding a few things from Michaels....it came together. The reaction again was phenominal and I am so flattered that you gals actually LIKE MY CREATIONS!!!!

So, now the question is, what to do next.....I am thinking "Le Romantique"??????I know a lot of gals already have this line.....but, it is the bling and embellishments that really make the kit......I also believe that it is all in the details...it saves you time and money running around trying to find all the little goodies that I incorporate into each mini. I also like to do a lot of personalizing of the items for you...so that it is a "one of a kind" mini album kit...creating exclusively for you.

Swaps on hold

well, all swaps have been put on hold until the new year. My surgery has been postponed until...who knows when.

I am trying not to get involved in to many swaps....but, I am and I did...In Nov I'm doing the junque charm swap...perfect for me...i've never made one so this is a learning experience. The cookie tag exchange....my favorite cookie.....Sweet & Salty Oatmeal Crisps....yum....ALso doing a mini swap with Lianne from the UK.....can't wait to see what she makes for me....will post some pics of the mini I'm doing for her. Lianne suffers from Fibro as well so we have a bit in common apart from scrapping.

Not much else going on in my little corner of the world.

Wow, as i look at this last post, it has been almost 2 1/2 months since I have been on my blog. Bad, bad blogger....

Life has been rather exciting and fun. I am hosting a couple of swaps at " The Scrap Beach". We have a monthly handmade flower swap and , let me tell you, the flowers these girls make are scrumdiddlyumptious. I also have added a pin swap to the mix and these are gorgeous as well. These gals come up with some ingenious items to imcorporate into their pins.

I also swap charms with Cindy...she puts us in groups of 8 and the charms have been so very pretty. Look forward to that swap evey month.

JoAnn Mckenzie has also got a swap together for charms. This will be the first month for this swap.

Eve Louw is hosting a swap of tag images. Can't wait to see what I get back from that. That would save on buying all the stamps I want...hehhehehe. You send in 2 sets of 10 tags stamped with 2 different stamps and Eve will swap them out and send back. Eve is in Ireland!!!

Life at the scrap beach

I have found a great forum that never fails to excite me everyday. We are a group of ladies that love to make minis and swap everything. AND, if you need or want something, there is usually someone there who will share it with you. They are loving, sharing artists from all over the globe.

And for fun....we have an ATC swap going on monthly, a 6 X 6 paper and goodies swap monthly, just paper 6X6 swap monthly, handmade flowers monthly. and soon all the mini swaps will start back up. Ohhhh, I forgot the tag swap.

There is also a place to sell or trade your supplies if you want.

It's a great place to be able to come to and relax and chat...lot of that going on!!!lol

And, we also have a virtual crop each month. Haven't been able to get to that yet, but, hope to participate in the next one. They have some really good prizes!!!

Made a lot of wonderful friends on the board......fun, fun, fun.

SIMPLE DOODLES Feb Guest Designer

Yes, it's true......here is my first card using one of Traci's wonderful digital stamps. I cut out the design after I colored it with copics....pop dotted it and applied it to the striped paper, added a red ribbon, red glitter to the cherry, and stamped "I Love You" with one of my $1 wooden stamps from Michaels.

Simple Doodles.....I HEART YOU contest

Wow, can't believe that I got this one done already. This fabulous heart is on the SIMPLE DOODLES blog spot and it is a "FREEBIE".......Run over there and get it for your collection. I printed it on Bazzill cardstock, embossed some lips on the heart with transparent embossing powder. The "kisses" stamp is one I have had for a couple of years and I used a red ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. Then added some red and white paper that I found in my scraps, some red velvet ric rac and 3 precious little red lip brads that I have had for EONS!!!!Turned out OK...not sure about this one. But hey I gotter done!!!lol

Here is my latest creation....I love this layout of my grandson EZRA...He was only 3 mos old and the happiest baby around. I used a couple of strips of Cosmo Cricket "Early Bird" and also some chipboard stickers from the same line. Did a little stitching and added a FEW buttons. 2nd day of the fabulous "Die Cut Divas" blog hop....so many wonderful recipes and sooo many calories...but, my butt is big enough......hehehe here is my recipe...oh so good!!!

Crispy Salted Oatmeal White Chocolate Cookies
Adapted from Cook’s Illustrated

The original recipe didn’t have white chocolate in it, but it really works wonderfully in here. Even if you’re a dark chocolate fan. Watch out, use the good stuff and this may even convert you.

1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon table salt
14 tablespoons (1 3/4 sticks) unsalted butter, slightly softened
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats

6 ounces good-quality white chocolate bar, chopped (not “white chocolate” chips; they’re almost always artificial. I am adamant about this.)

1/2 teapoon flaky sea salt (like Maldon or fleur de sel) (for sprinkling on top)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or Silpat. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and table salt in a medium bowl.

2. Beat butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Scrape down bowl with rubber spatula, then add egg and vanilla and beat until incorporated. Scrape down bowl again. Add flour mixture gradually and mix until just incorporated and smooth. Gradually add oats and white chocolate and mix until well incorporated.

3. Divide dough into 24 equal portions, each about 2 tablespoons. Roll between palms into balls, then place on lined baking sheets about 2 1/2 inches apart. Using fingertips, gently press down each ball to about 3/4-inch thickness.

4. Sprinkle a flake or two of sea salt on each cookie

5. Bake until cookies are deep golden brown, about 13 to 16 minutes, rotating baking sheet halfway through. Transfer baking sheet to wire rack to cool.

Here is my recipe to finish off the awesome "Die Cut Diva" blog hop.

Dorito Pie

1# ground beef
1/2 bag Dorito Chips ( I prefer "Salsa Verde")
1 jar of salsa
grated cheddar cheese
sour cream

Fry the ground beef until it is done. Drain. In 9 X 9 pan cruch the dorito chips up...add the salsa and ground beef and mix. Add the cheddar cheese on the top and bake in a 350 oven for about 20 minutes. Serve with sour cream, add a salad and any toppings you would like.

Die Cut Diva

Wow, over at "Die Cut Diva" they are having a recipe blog hop. they have a kit with my favorite(at the moment) Cosmo Cricket "Early Bird" recipe book!!!Those gals have some awesome pages and everyone of them has at least one recipe. When you complete the blog hop you need to link up to "Die Cut Divas" with a link to your site...with a RECIPE!!! So here is my favorite in a hurry dinner.....so simple, quick and yummy!!!!

Dorito Pie

1# ground beef
1/2 bag of any flavor Doritos....I prefer Salsa Verde
1 jar thick Salsa
shredded cheddar cheese
sour cream...any other things you would like, olives, green onions, etc

Fry the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain. In a 9 X 9 baking dish, crunch up Doritos pretty good. Then add the salsa, ground beef and stir together. Sprinkle as much cheese on it as you like. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. That's it...serve with salad and you have a very quick dinner .

My name "JUNQUEANDROSES" came about with my decorative painting. I would paint all kinds of roses on junk...and I needed a name that went together and voila...here I am...now scrapping and blogging and thought the name still works...sooo why not????

I love to paint and roses are my favorite...I might even paint them on cardstock for a page!!!

Here is my latest layout. Of course, it's Shayna, trying to see if these flowers are any good....lol. I used Chatterbox patterned paper, Bazzill cardstock, made my own lollipop flowers and addded riboon, lace and ric rac....also did some faux stitching on the leaves.

It was my June assignment for "Let's Scrap Divas" and I added it for the monthly challenge "Repeat, Repeat, Repeat" by Bonnie on "Scrapadilly"

It has been raining here for the better part of a week. It will rain really hard, stop, sun comes out, clouds come in, rains again, etc...etc...etc....Pretty cool for the first of summer.

Got really pretty white flowers and "Windsor Rose" Primas in the mail today!!The roses are really beautiful. I got all the white so I can "jazz" them up with alcohol inks and liquid embroidery. Think I am going to try some with some pearl powders too...we'll see.

Anyway, going to bed soon.....ttys

After a lot of mind changing and trying to figure this blogger thing out.....I think I have a BLOG!!!!

I don't know what I am going to blog about....but, I HAVE A BLOG!!!!

I will upload some of my scrapbook layouts tomorrow and hopefully link up to "Lets Scrap Divas"....yes, Renee, has invited me to be on the DESIGN TEAM there and suffice it to say....I AM EXCITED..(doing the happy dance here). I hope that I can be an asset to the team. Thank you , Renee, for this wonderful opportunity!!!

I have a tutorial there for "Frosted Flowers"....you know the PRIMAS with the white around the edges....EASY PEASY....when I figure out how to link it here, I will!!

I want to put some challenges on here as time goes by with PRIZES (OF COURSE) and who knows where this journey might take me....but, it looks like fun!!!
